Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

I would honestly give this place 3.5 stars but I'll be generous bc the ingredients seemed freSh and I love XL pizzas not the best pizza I've ever had but not the worst either. it's decent and not too greasy.. definitely fulfilled my pregnancy pizza craving. delivery wasn't too long about 45mins but can't complain. my viewpoint on delivery is not to rush someone especially if the roads still have some ice/snow worker over the phone was nice also. but I will say I'll order from pizza castle over all other pizza food chains!

I was craving pizza or a Steak and cheese. They happened to have both. Since I'm new to the area, I figured let's give it a shot. I was very pleased with my pizza. Extra sauce, just the right amount of cheese. Steak and cheese- yep ordered that too. But you can stop judging because I saved it for lunch the next day haha. And what a perfect lunch choice. Not a greasy sandwich. Great with a side salad. This is now one of my grab to go places.

I have ordered from here numerous times over the past couple of months. It's close enough to my house and they have really good deals which is a plus. I can get home one day and just not feel like cooking and get a whole meal for myself for around 12 dollars and it will arrive within 20 minutes. I think that is one of the greatest things since it is very convenient. Also, the food is great but obviously not gourmet food but it is made really well. They offer a wide selection so I can get whatever I am feeling that day. They haven't disappointed me yet so I recommend it.

Pizza Castle was ok. I wouldn't give it raving reviews, but it wasn't the worst either. MY girlfriend and I went to Pizza Castle to finally try it since moving to the area. I was hoping for it to be one of those delicious places not many people know about. Its a small little store. Sort of like the old dominos pizza stores back in the 90s. The service was ok. The young woman seemed nice. Menu was a little confusing but nothing bad. One thing I would like to see next time; when they are giving out deals, you should have the ability to substitute out drinks. Maybe this is an american thing, but trying to switch out a soda that came with the pizza for some simple water was a hassle. Basically for a 2 liter soda we received (2) 20 oz waters. -__- Sooooo Funnnnnn right? The Pizza was good. Well wait.... we order a half sausage half pepperoni pizza. Some pizza places sausage is suspect so I got the other side pepperoni because you CAN'T mess that up right? So the sausage part of the pizza was ok. The pepperoni side was great! All in all a good pizza. Not great, but good. I'd go back to Pizza Castle if theres not other pizza joint around. Right now i'd pizza dominoes because they butter the crust. (I'ma fatty. Don't Care). =D

Best chicken wings in Silver Spring .. hands down. Juicy and tasty. The pizza is pretty good too. They have a wide variety of items to choose from.

I call this place for the first time and order a veggie pizza. They deliver me a pepperoni pizza. Okay, sh.t happens. I call them about the mix up, and they said the driver back 30 minutes later with a COLD pizza. Let's review .... I waited nearly an HOUR for cold pizza, from a place I can literally see from my apt window. Not exactly a great impression. Needless to say I won't be ordering again.

UPDATE: We've ordered from Pizza Castle several more times. Pizza continues to be great! But be prepared for the ordering process to be VERY difficult ... several of the folks who take orders on the phone have a very difficult time with English, I think. So giving them the address and the order clearly can be laborious, and can take multiple calls. If they just had online ordering, they'd be Pizza Heaven.

Awful pizza. Anyone who says this is "New York Style pizza" has never been to NY, much less had NY style pizza. Never again. Ever. Disgusting.

Got the deluxe burger lunch special. $7 for double patty burg with fries and can of soda. Good enough of a deal but the burger was mediocre at best (the"bacon" was not bacon. It was in fact either Turkey bacon or some weird Canadian Turkey bacon....definitely wasn't pork, let alone real bacon). Service was fast and friendly though. My girlfriend got the pizza which looked pretty good, and was decent according to her. Might try again....not soon though.

Worst gyro ever and not realy sure what kind of meat they use. Grape leaves were soggy. The salad was not bad but small portion. Took about 1 hour 15 minutes for delivery and was over priced for the quality.

  • Dan R.

I stopped here for a couple of slices and thought the pizza was not particularly good and very greasy. I appreciate that it's New York style, but I wouldn't come back. If you like greasy pizza, give it a try but I didn't dig what I ate.

  • Kookie D.

They delivered faster than what was quoted. The delivery guy was also fast to handle the transaction. They have very good deals on pizzas. This was our first time ordering and it won't be our last! My husband has dubbed their bacon pizza as his new favorite.

Pizza slices are great, but when ordering fries I don't like Old Bay seasoning on them.

  • Monica D.

We started coming here because Dominic's down the street changed their recipes and it's too greasy. We like the Anniversary special because I can get my white pizza with bacon and he can get his. Best white pizza in the area. Nice yummy doughy pizza, and nice staff.

  • Suzanne R.

Like another reviewer said: it's much better than delivery. It's good, solid pizza. The location is SMALL! 2 two tops line the wall on each side for "dining in". That's all that will fit. Egg salad was on the menu & I found that extremely intriguing. I ordered it & it was very goood!

    (3)
  • Nyasa B.

I ordered a few non-pizza food items and to my horror the food was all frozen and processed. Nothing was fresh! Even the carrot cake arrived frozen! The fries were frozen and baked. Who does that? The owner should be forced to go to cooking classes because the food is a joke!

  • Barry S.

If you think this pizza deserves any more than two stars at the most, maybe you need to get out more. I can appreciate that the area does't have the best selection of restaurants, but that doesn't make bad pizza any better. If you love the pizza at Chuck E Cheese, rest stops off the interstate, Dominos, or any other corporation--this may be your place, otherwise--keep on driving.

Excellent pizza place. I usually order from the regular pizza delivery places, but I figured I'd try this - and a few times already I've gotten hooked on their pizza. It tastes delicious; you would find it comparable to something from Jerry's Subs and Pizza. The sauce tastes great, the pepperoni is fresh, and the cheese tastes awesome!! (you can tell what kinda pizza I like to order). I got their mozarella sticks as well last time I was there and they was delicious too - even the marinara. Surprisingly good for a half-sized restaurant in a shopping center. It's not the best place if you're looking to sit down and eat, but their pizza is well-priced (16" for $9.99 last time I was there), so it's worth stopping by.

Ordered five large pizzas for a work event and they were delivered hot and on time. We ordered more than we knew we'd need, but all five pizzas were quickly devoured and were a big hit. Would definitely recommend these guys again.

  • Ina C.

New York style pizza with plenty of grease. YUM! I haven't had anything but their pizza, but it's decent. I work close by and come here often to pick up lunch and it's always a pretty good choice. Some things to know: - There's hardly any room to sit. - A slice of cheese is like $1 or 2 (can't remember). - It's tucked away in the White Oak Shopping Center.

Large pizza was great for the price. The buffalo chicken sandwich was phenomenal. The plain wings were tasty too. Good food and good neighborhood spot with a fairly priced menu.

  • Jessica S.

OK. This pizza is a complete happy medium. It's way better than any chain delivery. Is it better than a "gourmet" pie a la 2 Amy's? NO. It's pretty in between...I love that the crust isn't too thick or too thin. It arrives HOT, which for delivery pizza, is half the battle, GI JOE. I recently tried a calzone...that was good stuff...buffalo chicken, actually. I also tried Dominic's pizza dine in that is also on New Hampshire, but further north. Pizza Castle has that place beat.

  • Cliff E.

Best average pizza for a 20 block radius. Best deal is probably the extra large one-topping for $9.95. Pizza mechanics and materials are not Italian, grade 'B' restaurant quality. 1-2 steps up from Dominos/Pizza Hut.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Burgers

Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.

Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
